Who are we? Uruguayan Angus Beef Certified S.A.

The Program “Uruguayan Angus Beef” starts as an interest of the Directors, who created a meat commission to give answer to the interests of many partners, cattle industrialists and producers. They where aware of the great development Angus breed had in the main producing and consuming countries, and in which, the programs of certified Angus beef were extremely successful. Therefore, this program has for objective to capture the differentials that Angus breed has in its final product from the consumers point of view: tenderness, juiciness, taste, etc.

Why is Uruguayan Angus Beef created? Due to SCAAU´s impossibility of starting and taking ahead this project from the formal point of view, it was necessary to look for alternatives. The C.A.A.U.S.A. conformation not only can take ahead the project, but allows the active participation of all those partners who want it. This last was and is an objective in itself, allowing us to maintain the identity of the breed and the commitment to it.

How is CAAUSA conformed? Uruguayan Angus Beef becomes serious through the figure of a joint-stock company were all the partners can accede as shareholders. The Society of Aberdeen Angus Breeders of Uruguay, is the major shareholder, from the beginning of the company and will remain so for as long as the company exists, according to the approved status. The rest of the shareholding package will be exclusively into the hands of partners. These partners, will not be able, with no exceptions, to accumulate actions, so as to generate more power. Thiss path has been chosen in behalf of assuring the interests of all the partners. If a great diversity of opinions exists in CAAUSA greater opportunities will arise to discuss and to generate instances of learning on the destiny of the company, of the breed. The main objective of CAAUSA is the administration of the certification of Uruguayan Aberdeen Angus meat. Therefore, its main source of income is the sale of services of certification, which allows to maintain its structure, execution of promotion plans and diffusion of the product.
