Update Day

On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 took place the updateday organized by SCAAU focused on the subjects of animal Selection, EPD, Meat and Market Perspective.

Ing. Horacio Gutiérrez talked about the characters and racial attributes of the Angus, racial pattern of the Angus and selective criteria in the cattle. Ing. Gutiérrez also made comments in Santa Bernardina about animal selection.

Regarding the market of the meat Dr Roberto Vázquez Platero talked about Certified beef in the context of the international markets, Dr Marcelo Secco spoke about the opportunities and perspectives in the world-wide market of beef. Finally Angus Meat gave a presentation about the operation of the Program of Certification.

For the EPD Lic. Agustín Stream executive director of the Association Argentina de Angus, spoke about the fenotipical and genotipical evaluation in bovines, variability of quantitative characteristics, inheritance and efficiency of the selection. Lic. Jorge Mounts spoke as well about the importance of the EPS in the genetic improvement
