•  Excellent Mothers

One of the most famous characteristics of the Angus cow is its maternal abilities. These animals provide the exact right amount of good and fat milk to their calves. The Angus cow is alert, active and possesses an extraordinary intelligence. It travels far to seek better pastures and takes excellent care of its offspring. The dark pigmentation of its skin, prevents itself from getting sunburn or frost bite on its udders, which would eventually require extra skin work.

•  Less Birth Difficulties

For cow owners, birth problems are a rarity. The newly born Angus calf weighs less than the average one with a small shaped head and bone structure. Therefore, more births take place with fewer complications allowing the cows to give birth to healthy living calves.

•  The Best Crossbreed System

Many producers are using Angus bulls for the first pregnancy of the cows since they have, as a consequence, fewer difficulties occurring during labor and their calves gain weight soon after weaning has begun. Due to using Angus bulls, cows can conceive at an early age, thus one more calf can come from the same female. Other advantages of using Angus bulls for crossbreeding are that the claves are born without horns. Resulting 95% of the time, with less vitality and keratitis problems.

•  Strong Healthy Animals

Their main strength is the fact that they know how to seek food -for which they are mostly admired by breeders and producers- in open fields under adverse circumstances such as enduring abrupt changes of temperature and atmospheric conditions. Moreover, they excel compared to other breeds where their robustness and stamina is also praised.

•  Strong Resistant Animals

As a general rule there are fewer diseases among the Angus cattle. The black and red cows do not develop eye cancer, which means that the productive life expectancy is much longer. They are also less likely to become infected with keratitis (bad eyes), which generally occurs among the light-colored cattle. Moreover, the Angus young bull in herds is unlikely to come in contact with neither keratitis nor foot necrosis.

•  Unnecessary Horn Removal

The Angus calf is born without horns and in stockyards where Angus bulls are used, a high percentage of the calves are still born without them and even with cows that do have horns of British breed, 95% of them are still born without horns. As a consequence, not only do stockbreeders avoid embarrassment but at the same time, avoid causing stress to the animal as well as other horn removal problems such as: lungworms, weight loss, etc.

•  Highest Prices

The best prices are usually paid for the Angus cattle. Due to their meat, these animals are indeed a very profitable investment.

•  Premium Meat

The steers of Angus cattle produce first class meat. In meat contests, the Angus cattle has won most of them and have demonstrated superiority in thousands of slaughterhouses as well as in the retail markets. The Angus meats is currently considered to be “the standard of perfection” as well as being constantly compared to other breeds.
